The mangroves project will absorb part of the emissions generated from our International Sales Events.
We are glad to partner with zeroCO2 in planting our mangrove forest in Guatemala in Mazatenango in the Suchitepéquez department located on the south coast of the country. Our goal is to restore the ecosystem by reforestation, planting mangrove trees of the species Conocarpus erectus, donating them to local communities, and engaging them in training to maintain and safeguard the forest over time.
In 2022 arena planted 2778 mangrove trees that are estimated to absorb 350000 kgs of CO2, to absorb the greenhouse gas emissions generated by the Sales events organized in Sardinia (17th – 19th May 2022) and in Milan (15th – 16th November 2022).
In 2023 arena planted 3.175 mangrove trees that are estimated to absorb 400000 kgs of CO2, to absorb the greenhouse gas emissions generated by the Sales events organized in [you can add here the location and dates if you want]
In 2024 are chose to support a mangrove restoration project in Pakistan by purchasing 300 Verra-certified carbon credits, which is equal to 300 tons of CO2 removed from the atmosphere.
The project Delta Blue Carbon is the largest blue carbon project in the world. It is located in river coastal areas that have undergone significant deforestation and degradation. It involves local communities in the restoration and management of mangrove forests to support their local economy.
It is a Removal project of ARR (Afforestation, Reforestation and Revegetation) and it is certified Verra CCB, having co-benefits on Climate, Community and Biodiversity.
The total number of people with improved livelihoods or income generated as a result of the Delta Blue Carbon project activities is 2446 people overall. Specifically, the number of families benefiting from Mangrove Stewardship Agreements (MSAs) is 150 households, with 9 persons per household, amounting to 1350 people.
In 2022, arena supported zeroCO2’s “marine reforestation” project, which involves planting a Posidonia oceanica in Golfo Aranci
