Carbon footprint · Company
Calculate your company's carbon footprint
Measure your business's CO2 emissions starting from data you already have — bills, mileage, spending. In a few minutes you get a credible estimate, with a min–max range and your main emission sources, without having to become a carbon accounting expert.
What the Company estimate includes
What the calculator measures for a company
The free version covers the emissions that matter most for an SME and are easiest to find: Scope 1 (direct emissions, such as your fleet and heating systems) and Scope 2 (the electricity and heat you buy). On top of these it adds two Scope 3 categories that are almost always significant: employee commuting and business travel.
It's a starting snapshot, not a complete inventory. Full Scope 3 accounting — suppliers, logistics, purchased goods, use of the products you sell — needs supply-chain data and dedicated work: that's what we tackle in the PRO version and in consultancy.
How it works, even without technical data
For each item you can enter the technical figure (kWh, litres, kilometres) or, if you don't know it, simply the amount spent in euros: the calculator converts it automatically using national average prices and emission factors.
Emission factors come from recognised public sources — ISPRA, the IPCC and Ecoinvent — and the Scope classification follows the GHG Protocol, the most widely used standard in the world. The result is expressed in tonnes of CO2 equivalent, always as a min–max range, so we're honest about the uncertainty of the estimate.
Why measure it now
More and more customers and lead companies are asking their suppliers for emissions data; the CSRD is progressively extending reporting, indirectly, to smaller businesses too; public tenders and ESG criteria reward those who measure. And where there are avoidable emissions, there are often avoidable costs.
Having a first credible number is the fastest way to see where to start — and to make decisions based on knowledge, not gut feeling.
From measurement to action
The calculation shows your main emission sources: that's where it pays to act first. From there you can reduce — switching energy supplier, electrifying your fleet, rethinking business travel — or offset the emissions you can't eliminate yet through zeroCO2's high-social-impact reforestation projects.
No version of the calculator includes ISO certification (14064): it's an estimate, not a certified inventory. When you need validated data and a tailored reduction roadmap, the consultancy programme with our team starts here.
Frequently asked questions
What data do I need to get started?
Just information you already have in the business: energy consumption (in kWh or in euros from your bills), the type and use of your vehicles, how many employees you have and how they get to work, and last year's business travel. Where you don't have the exact figure, an estimate in euros is enough.
Does the free version cover all of Scope 3?
No. The Free version includes two Scope 3 categories (employee commuting and business travel), which are already significant for many SMEs. Full Scope 3 — suppliers, materials, logistics, product use — needs supply-chain data and is covered in the PRO version or through consultancy.
Is the result valid for the CSRD or for ISO certification?
It's an indicative estimate, useful as a starting point and for internal awareness. It doesn't replace an ISO 14064-certified inventory or formal CSRD reporting: for those you need our dedicated consultancy programme.
How long does it take to calculate a company's carbon footprint?
A few minutes. The questionnaire is guided and asks only for the essentials, with automatic conversions from the data you already have.

The calculator's estimates are indicative and based on average sector emission factors from public sources (ISPRA, IPCC, Ecoinvent). They are not a substitute for an emissions inventory certified to ISO standards.
